In relation to Osaki’s Acquisition of EDMI, we have adopted a New Corporate Logo effective April 1, 2013. Meaning of the logo as follows:
New symbol mark represents “Precision” “Reliability” and “Technology” as three small squares and the combined three symbolize firm value of the energy management field that OSAKI has been cultivating. A rectangle that means “New value” in global market and the energy solution field attaches to three squares. The whole figure shapes one big square that signifies “Global Energy Solution Leader”.
49 African countries and 80 Japanese companies exhibited and over 30,000 people attended the recently concluded African Fair 2013 held in Yokohama, Japan last May 30th to June 2nd which was an official event of TICAD (Tokyo International Conference on African Development). EDMI exhibited Mk29D prepaid meter which is widely used in African markets and Mk10E for C&I. At the event, we were able to have a brief discussion with the Tanzanian President and shared with him the on-going projects of OSAKI-EDMI with Tanesco in Tanzania. The event served as a venue to meet qualified agents who can help us introduce our meters to utility companies of Namibia, Angola and several other African countries where we haven’t had the opportunity to explore yet.
64 companies exhibited and over a thousand people attended the recently concluded Metering Asia 2013 held in Bangkok last 22-23 May. Customers from different countries came to visit the yearly Metering Show. EDMI invited several clients from all over Asia who visited the booth and had productive discussions with our team during the 2 day Exhibition and Conference.
EDMI mainly focused on showcasing the Residential Meters (Mk7B and Mk31).

EDMI’s demonstration of the practical application of smart metering for consumers was a crowd-pleaser at the Smart Utilities Australia and New Zealand exhibition held in Melbourne at the end of November.
Identifying key integration possibilities between smart meters and smart-phone and other consumer applications, EDMI was able to show Australian and New Zealand industry players what was possible today with EDMI’s ingenuity.
The idea was simple enough:
Display real time power consumption on an iPhone; then based on the level of power consumption perform an operation (turn on/turn off) on everyday consumer appliances.
The demonstration required modified Storm code which is EDMI’s latest headend software. This created a lightweight communication server that could a) establish constant real time communication with a meter, b) provide real time power consumption to an iPhone app and c) integrate with consumer appliances to perform appropriate actions (e.g. turn fan on/off).
On 8 November 2013, Haiyan, one of the strongest typhoons ever recorded, struck the Philippines resulting an estimated death toll of more than 5,000, with thousands more missing. Homes were swept away by the combination of powerful winds and surging waters. For survivors, the life-and-death struggle continues – the super typhoon has left them no clean water, and no food or shelter. And aid trickles in only slowly due to the damage to the roads and infrastructure that might have carried it.
EDMI offers our deepest condolences to the Filipinos who have lost their loved ones and extends support to the people that were devastated by the natural disaster. Offices, globally, have reached through charitable foundations in the Philippines to extend their aid to the struggling survivors. Employees of EDMI came together and have so far raised SGD $7,400.00. This has been remitted to the ABS-CBN foundation in the Philippines. More funds are still coming in and will soon be sent to the Philippines to aid the victims of the super typhoon.
