EDMI Strengthens Global Product Innovation Leadership

EDMI today announced the appointment of Aran Naidu as Director of Product, marking his return to the company as he steps into a key leadership role guiding EDMI’s global product direction. Aran will work closely with Chief Technology Officer Ivan Barron and Managing Directors Mike Somersmith for EMEA and Brett Reid for APAC, with the group reporting into Andrew Thomas, Chief Operating Officer. Aran rejoins EDMI after serving in a global product leadership position with an industry competitor, following earlier roles in EDMI’s Australian and UK operations.

Aran’s return reflects EDMI’s strong talent development and retention culture. Many leaders, including Mike Somersmith and Andrew Thomas, have similarly expanded their experience externally before returning to EDMI with enhanced expertise and market perspective.

In parallel, EDMI has also confirmed the internal promotions of Chris Hurt to Director of IT and Marcus Benecke to Director of PMO, both part of the Group Strategy Team, strengthening the company’s alignment across product, technology and delivery functions. This continuity of talent reinforces EDMI’s commitment to developing people and supporting long-term career pathways.

The expanded leadership team brings extensive experience across metering, IoT, cloud platforms and edge intelligence, combining EDMI’s long‑standing internal capability with broader industry insight.
