EDMI Announces Strategic Agreement with Leading European Manufacturer

EDMI, a global leader in intelligent energy solutions, today announced a strategic manufacturing agreement with Cicor Technologies Ltd. (Cicor), a Switzerland-headquartered company and a leading global provider of advanced electronics solutions.

On 28 July 2026, EDMI’s parent company, Osaki Electric Co., Ltd., approved a framework agreement with Cicor relating to EDMI’s manufacturing strategy, strengthening the execution of its overall business strategy. The agreement includes the transfer of ownership of EDMI Electronics Sdn. Bhd. (EESB) in Malaysia, to the Cicor Group. The completion date of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and approval by the relevant authorities in Malaysia.

Following completion, Cicor will act as a key strategic manufacturing partner and continue to manufacture EDMI smart meters at the existing EESB facility in Malaysia, covering the NEOS, Atlas and Genius series, in accordance with EDMI’s specifications and quality requirements.

This strategic transformation builds on an existing working relationship between EDMI and Cicor through SMETS2 electricity meter production for the Great Britain market, where large‑scale volumes have been successfully manufactured and delivered.

As a result of this structural realignment of manufacturing operations, EDMI will increase its focus on advancing key technology capabilities, including edge intelligence and related grid solutions, to support the evolving needs of utilities and energy providers.

EDMI will continue to design and develop its smart metering and grid solutions globally, retaining responsibility for product quality standards and ongoing customer support, while working closely with manufacturing partners as part of its long‑standing operating model.
