Osaki Electric Co., Ltd, EDMI’s parent company in Japan, has announced that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated the Group’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets for FY2030.
The Osaki Group has strengthened its commitment to reducing emissions, setting more ambitious targets for Scope 1 and 2 emissions – aiming for a 42% reduction from FY2023 levels. For the first time, the Group has also introduced Scope 3 reduction targets, committing to a 25% decrease in GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and the use of sold products. These science-based targets align with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
As part of the Osaki Group, EDMI is aligned with these ambitious targets and is implementing strategies to support their achievement.
